In our modern classrooms, we're so lucky to have Starfall online, and everything is free and available to teachers. The children can begin with the letters and the letter sounds, and then they can incorporate those letters into reading stories on the smart board, and they even have take home stories that they can share with their families at home. And isn't it wonderful how children can grow with their stories and then get to understand that in stories, they can be real, they can be fiction, they can be non-fiction, and there are parts of stories that make them understand why a story is important to all of us.

So my children love to do Starfall online, because they can come up with the pointer and they can learn and have fun learning. They learn their phonics online, they can learn how to read online, and they're so excited when they get to choose, on their own, and become independent along with the smart board. Starfall can be started at the beginning of the year with your children, to help them develop awareness of the letters of the alphabet. The children love coming to the smart board with their pointer. They will find the letters that they're interested in learning about, listen for the sound of the letter,  the name of the letter, and also once they understand the importance of letters, the next step is to interact with games that are available through Starfall.
